	Fiber Optics Installation Foreman. Bering Sea Eccotech, Inc. has the following position open and is seeking qualified applicants. Position: Fiber Optics Installation Foreman/Lead Man Reports to: Project Manager Salary: DOE POSTING DATE: February 28, 2007 CLOSING DATE: till filled NATURE OF WORK The Fiber Optics Installation Foreman is a working foreman and will be responsible for providing oversight of all workers employed to install fiber optic cable to meet contractual requirements. This job requires the ability to read and decipher maps and/or charts for laying fiber optic cable while avoiding utility lines and underground hazards. The individual will be expected to operate installation equipment including concrete slab saws, trenching equipment, and bucket trucks for aerial installation of fiber optic cabling systems. ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS · May work with the customer to resolve issues as they pertain to the contract requirements · Responsible for completing all reports and project assessments pertaining to the contract requirements · Reading and deciphering of maps and/or charts for the laying of fiber optic cable while avoiding utility lines and underground hazards · Installation of fiber optic products and related fiber optic equipment below and above the surface using the appropriate equipment for the site · Prepare junction boxes to terminate fiber optic runs · Test fiber optics runs to verify continuity and resolve any issues discovered related to those runs · Coordinate movement of men, equipment, and materials to and from various locations · Travel is required (perdiem reimbursed expenses) KNOWLEDGES, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS · Knowledge of state and local requirements for installation of subsurface utility lines · 8-10 years of commercial construction experience · 2-3 years of lead/foreman supervisory experience · 2-3 years of electrician experience · 2-3 years of excavation and /or utility installation · CDL required · Must pass background check and drug testing Please fill out an application using Microsoft Word Once you have completed your application please click the submit resume button below and attach your application along with a copy of your resume.
